How Indexability Works
Status codes, robots meta directives, canonical signals, content access and search-engine decisions all affect whether a URL can be indexed.
A Simple Example
A page returning 200 OK can still be non-indexable if it contains a noindex directive or Google selects another URL as canonical.
Why Indexability Matters
Indexability determines whether a page can become a search result at all.
Common Misreading
Allowing indexing does not guarantee indexing or rankings. Search engines still evaluate duplication, quality, usefulness and canonicalization.
